Yesterday, at the Celebration Of Dad's Life - his sister 9Auntie Margaret) gave the grandchildren a book - 'The Buggins'. She had been in Hay on Wye yesterday morning and noticed a book launch. She went in and the author of this little children's book was there - she discovered that the book was based around a clan of fictional little folk that lived in the Begwns - the hills where Dad spent a big part of his life! The author (Lynette Gallagher) signed the books for the grandchildren and whilst talking to her, she discovered that the author's father had taught Dad (Deri). Too extraordinary but our week has been like that - I opened the book and flicked through, stopping on page 18 - I just couldn't believe that one of the little fictional folk was called Cai (the name of my younderst son, Deri's youngest grandchild!) - I have not seen this little Welsh name even written before! It also had it's meaning - "path, way - quick, sure footed pathfinder. Instinctive" - gosh that's our Cai! It snowed yesterday morning as we left for the church and a couple on inches settled, as we came out of the church it was really coming down on us all in the graveyard and standing outside the Red Lion waiting to go in for tea and sandwiches. Everyone who was staying has now left - so I look forward to lighting the fire, bathing my rosey cheecked boys who have been sledging all day and reading this little, special book to them.
